Gladstone Community Group
The PTA is referred to as the ‘Gladstone Community Group’. We changed our name in 2015 because we wanted the whole of the community associated with Gladstone Primary School to feel a part of the PTA. All of our children enjoy the benefits of GCG run activities – playground facilities, tiger turf, kapa haka and pacific uniforms, sporting equipment, educational resources, social events … and so on, but not all of us have had the opportunity to get involved.
We are always looking for new people to help. We have the philosophy that many hands make light work and encourage all Gladstone families to give us 5 hours a year. This helps you feel part of a great community and together we can make the school and community outstanding.
There are tonnes of ways you can get involved with the Gladstone Community. Anything from a couple of hours once a term manning a sausage sizzle or helping with an IT issue, to all manner of fundraising and community based activities. Where ever you feel comfortable to contribute, the Gladstone Community Group has somewhere for you to help. Come and be part of the amazing school community we have. We’d love to hear from anyone who’d like to take part. Contact us at any time at [email protected].
Our meetings are open for anyone to attend, so feel free to come along and learn about our new committee’s and structure, and see how you can get involved in the Gladstone Community:

Class Parent Representative (CPR)
This year at Gladstone sees the beginning of Class Parent Reps (CPRs) being established for every class as a way to better connect parents/caregivers with the wider Gladstone family and school networks.
For this to happen each class needs a parent willing to take on this small but important role.
The CPR’s job would be to create and maintain communication between the new Gladstone Community and the teachers and parents in your class.
There is a team ready to welcome and support the Class Parent Reps and help get the concept up and running. Please consider if you can do this for your child’s class and feel free to contact one of us if you have any questions.
